Nova will be airing the program: What Are Dreams? on Tuesday, November 24 at 8 pm on WGBH Channel 2.

This was a fascinating show. I had no idea that Boston is such a center for dream research. Three major universities - Boston University, Harvard, and MIT all have dream research departments.
One significant fact determined by research is that dreams are excellent problem solvers. If you have a problem in your waking life you can bring it to your dreams and you will continue working on the problem in your sleep. At least half of the time this leads to a solution to the problem, sometimes a very innovative solution. |
