The Second Annual Dreaming in the New Year is a time-related ritual exercise which anyone can do anywhere in the world. New Years Eve is a traditional time for transition, transformation, and renewal. It is also a great time for setting a dream intention.
Set an intention to have a special dream. This can be a personal and private ritual exercise or if you are feeling ambitious and social you can coordinate your dream intention with other people. Invite some of your friends over to talk about your dream plans or to talk about your dreams afterward. If you want, you can set an intention to have a common dream, where you get together with one or more of your friends in dream space (your dream friends or your waking friends). The possibilities are endless and wonderful.
Here's an exercise you can do wherever you are.
This exercise takes place at the first sleep of the new year on January 1, when you go to bed, set an intention to dream a special dream. Ask your dreams or your spirit guides for guidance or make a New Years manifestational wish or affirmation for the coming year. Create one which is particularly relevant to you personally. Write it down on a small piece of paper and put it under your pillow or in your pillow case. This is called dream incubation and it will prime your dream pump. Go to sleep.
Examples of guidance questions: "What is my next step in life?", "What should I make as my primary focus for this new year?", "What is my next career move?"
Examples of manifestational wishes or affirmations: "I am having health, wealth and happiness in this new year.", "I am finding and enjoying a loving life-partner in 2010.", "The entire world is at peace beginning in 2010."
When you wake up, write down any dreams or dream fragments you remember. If you wake up in the night write down any images that occur to you, repeat your dream intention, and go back to sleep. If you don't get any response the first night, try it again the next night and the next, until you get something. Feel free to share your results on the right here on Boston Dreamers website.
