    An Experiment For the Group

Like many Americans, I live in a world saturated to the brim with visual distractions. They are everywhere and hard to avoid. Recently I read in an online essay about research conducted which shows how watching television negatively ... Read moreeffects brain function - lowering IQ and creativity. So in response to this, a year ago January I disconnected my cable and havent watched television since. I have occasionally attended or rented movies, but only with the most discerning judgment to it's visual content (preferring mythic over contemporary themes). I also stopped reading magazines.

I found in response my dreams became more vivid over time.

I would challenge others to see if they can reproduce my findings. TV is addictive, but it dulls the mind. See if you can go a month without turning on the tube or reading a magazine full of images and advertisements, while at the same tracking your dreams.

I'd love to hear the results.
